What are VA Riders Talkin' About?

Taskers Gap has some of the worst (aka rockiest) trails for quads.  We won't be riding there again :)

Bob we rode the Rockhouse trails. I think we have riden almost all of them by now after 7 years at the same place.  Sent me a befriend  request for facebook on e-mail  My e-mail is mingloskijr@comcast.net. Got some good pictures with more coming. As you will see there are some pretty bad trails there. I can't believe some of the riders we see up there. Look like first time riders to me, but it's not the place for beginners. This year some of the blue trails should have been black black!! Stay in touch as we will be looking for a new place to ride next April I think. we have to drive 6.5 hrs to get there from Col Hgts, Va. Talk to you soon, hopefully. Oh I forgot we usually have 9-15 guys no females but we only had 5 this year, economy  I guess

Hi Robert.. where did you go riding?  I'm always looking for groups rides.  Had a nice one in PA last month, but am looking forward to more events.  I hope to get down to HMT soon.

well fellow atvers We are from Col Hgts and just got back from Lisa's and Marty's. We usually have 9-15 guys on the trip but because of the economy we only had five this year but we did have fun. We also had one accident that needed stiches. My son riding a suzuki 700. Rolled over on the way back from the rockhouse. He is doing ok now, we  took him to a clinic in Man. If you ever need treatment go there if you are anywhere close. The staff and doctors are super! They did a great job on him. cannot THANK them enough!!  BE SAFE and have fun

Any dirt bike folk hail from RVA? Got an RM250 and I'm looking for some trail riding, enduro riding, mx / sx tracks somewhere within a 30 minute distance. I'd be interested in running with a crew. I maintain a relatively high pace, depending on distance and familiarity of the trail.

Awesome. Too bad Culpeper isn't closer to Richmond. Got an RM250 here, would be great to have an sx / mx track I could bring it to when wanted. Hopefully I can find the time to make it that way sometime, I will certainly let you know.

hey guys fowler here im from the culpeper rixeyville area in VA, just to let you know we have a mx track and working on an xc track that will hopefully be ready the start of this summer, but we do encourage ppl to come out and ride with us. its all private land, you can pretty much call us a ridding club but its normally get to gethers on the weekends unpland. odds are were there everyweekend saturdays and sundays. if mx and xc fits your style of ridding let me know.

Hey Bob, for sure we should!  My email is jeffreyhughes@earthlink.net.  Ping me back if you want to catch up sometime.  I'm definitely wanting to to hit Taskers as soon as it re-opens (probably the Peter's Mill trail first).

Let me know if you come across any other spots to ride that are reasonably close to us, in the meantime, and I'll do the same.  When it starts to get warm again I'm also inclined to do some longer trips, a la HM.

Jeff

Jeff, Just sent you a message request. We should definitely hook-up.

Hey guys, another fellow from Warrenton, Va.  Just bought my first ATV (2012 Honda Foreman) a week ago and looking to get into the sport. I've ridden motorcycles (road bikes - have four of them) for decades, but this is my first foray into quads or off-road.

Sorry I seem to have missed my chance to ride Taskers Gap this year, until the two-month blackout period ends.  I've never been off-road there, but have ridden past it numerous times on my road bikes.  Now I can't wait for spring so I can give it a go.

I'm also thinking a several-day HM trip would be great.  I'll definitely be looking to do that later in the spring or summer.

I've been a little bit surprised at the dearth of off-road places to ride.  If anyone has any other suggestions I'd love to hear them!
